Designed in the Delta: My Visit to the Paul Michael Company

I’m embarrassed to say that I had never heard of the Paul Michael Company before I received an invitation to visit their headquarters in Lake Village, AR.  Here’s a little word about the company from Paul himself:

I was super excited to be invited to go & check them out with several other blogging ladies.  They put us up in cabins at Lake Chico State Park & wisked us away to have wine at Paul Michael’s office (which does not look like a normal office at all as you can see below).

We got the chance to meet Debbie & Elizabeth Michael; wife & daughter to owner Paul Michael.

After our cozy gathering, we got to attend the Paul Michael Company’s Christmas Open House.  Here we are in our full glory:

We are the top pinned items at the Paul Michael Company.  #wearesofunny #notreally

So, this was my first time to ever see one of their stores in person &, I’ve gotta tell you, I wanted one of everything in that store!  Here are a few of the items I really loved:

Colorful mini Pots

Green plates & nest plates

Gray Plates

After a great night at the store, we had back to our cabins for some bonding time:

Day Two:

On the second day, after grabbing some free WIFI at McDonalds, we drove to Dermott to visit their workshop.  We got the grand tour & got to watch a lot of amazing furniture making in process.  Up above the workshop is this amazing storage area for all of Paul’s found items yet to become something beautiful.  What a place to explore for a flea market nut like me!  Here are a few of the highlights we got to see:Workshop Upstairs Collage

Some real beauty there, and potential.

That night Paul Michael & family hosted us at their family’s deer camp way out in the woods where cell phone don’t work.  It was an experience!

PM & Steph  This is Paul Michael talking about the finer points of frying deer meat with The Park Wife.

They fried fresh deer meat right out there on their campfire (bon fire?) like pros.

It was super good food & we had such a great time talking.  They were great hosts & seem like a terrific couple:

Paul & DebbieSweet, right?

It was awesome getting to go there and meet the Michael family & get an inside look at how their company does things.  I hope to get back down there sometime to shop & visit!!

There were several businesses that sponsored our visit that I want to mention.  You might consider stopping by next time you are in Lake Village, AR:

Lake Chicot State Park, Lake Village Chamber of Commerce, Arkansas Ag, Simmons First Bank, Dermott Amish Country Store, 817 Liquor, JJ’s Cafe, Hunter’s Pharmacy & Gifts, Dee’s Flowers, Lake Village Flowers.

THANK YOU for showing us such a warm welcome to the Delta!
