School life. It’s not my fave. I feel like life is on fast-forward all week. It makes me feel so disorganized. Can you relate? There are so many details & papers & snacks & homework & car lines &…ugh. Sometimes I just want to call time-out on life. Right? So, we call time-out. The best way I can think of to do this is to plan something a little different; a break in the monotony. A couple of days ago, we filled the pool with tons of balls (think ball pit) & added the water. Last fun swim of the season. It was pretty cool.
This time I decided to set up a “camp-in.” After school, this is what they came home to:
1. I Made a fire from paper towel rolls & tissue paper.
Basically, it’s 2 paper towel rolls. I cut a half circle out of one, so I could easily criss cross the rolls to look like firewood. Then, I took 2 sheets of red tissue paper & 2 sheets of yellow tissue paper & arranged them like the first picture. Next, I pointed to the center of the tissue paper & poked my finger. I took my other hand & pinched that spot from the under side & grabbed it securely. Then, I twisted it at the base (4th pic). I turned it over & it was a fire! You can fluff & arrange it until your happy with the way it looks. After that, you’re ready to attach it to your logs. I used floral wire to secure it.
2. Gathered some books to read together.
3. Made some fun s’moresy treats courtesy of Hershey’s Ready to eat Pudding from Walmart. The new S’mores flavor is super creamy & yummy for a campy after school snack. I love to have snacks already ready when they get home because they are usually hungry.
Since the pudding is s’mores flavored, I thought it would be cute to add 2 little sticks with marshmallows at each end. I used pretzel sticks & mini marshmallows. Here’s how I made them:
Also, bonus! The October issue of All You has a coupon for you!
4. Also, you gotta have a tent. We already had one in my daughter’s room, but any old sheet and some clothes pins will do!

So fun! I have been dreaming up a glamping party for Lily–might have to steal your s’mores pudding idea!
Galloping sounds super fun.
